San Pablo Creek: There was much hilarity when we approached San Pablo Creek. The guide book stated that it was easily hopped across, “except after heavy rainfall.” Of course, it had been raining almost every week all spring, and we could hear the creek rushing (not trickling) as we drew near. Dena forded it; the rest of the hikers opted for the road route, which had a bridge.
