Mustard and vetch: The wildflowers were
not nearly so impressive as they have been on other hikes. Mustard and vetch
were the dominant flowers we saw this trip. In this photo, you can see the
purple vetch subtly coloring the hillsides in the middle distance, just below
the dots that are cows. Mostly, there were green grasses, barely
beginning to dry out and go to seed. Mt. Diablo is the shadow in the distance.
