Mt. Diablo: Mt. Diablo looms in the distance. In the foreground is a lowly stock pond that actually served as a significant landmark -- there were trails and roads on this hike that were not on the map, but once we saw the pond, we knew we were on the right path. The muddy water attracted all sorts of wildlife: red-winged blackbirds were swooping and calling, and seemed to be playing on the mustard. Maybe Barbie got a good picture…
