Hood and Bald Mtn: After leaving the marsh, we quickly lost altitude, tramping through an unexpected forest of young, spindly redwood trees. Breaking out of the forest, we were treated to the view below, complete with a picnic table under the oak trees. Hood Mountain, which is the highest peak in the center, is the destination of our next hike (#12), and Bald Mtn. is the grassy peak just to the right.
