Hike #5: Loma Alta – White Hill to Big Rock (18-January-2005)
HIKING IN JANUARY. With weeks of rain behind us, we were eager to get hiking
again, and decided we’d do this relatively short section no matter what.
This section basically goes up and over Loma Alta. To shorten the shuttle,
Dena and Robin started at the south end with the dogs; Kit started at the Lucas
Valley end and walked south. We met at the top, and Kit turned around and hiked
back down. We should probably hike this section again — in better weather —
as we really were unable to appreciate the views extolled in the guidebook!
